And the Kites Flew High in May…

More than 100 kites flew during the Kite Flying Festival on 6 May at the Parade Ground, Clarkfield, Pampanga. We didn’t join in the flying. We went there to watch the kites.

It almost rained, too! But God didn’t let that happen!

The winds blew really hard…and turned over some tents!

I was too scared to get close to the other tents to get a picture,

just imagine some of the tents in the picture above turning over,

the one below nearly hit us…thank the Lord we moved away in time!

It turns out this was the second leg of the Festival. The first part happened in February in the Province of Pangasinan. I don’t know who won the Festival but it definitely was FUN!! I hope they’ll do it again next year… 

Love is TIME

 

In the eyes of a child, LOVE is spelled TIME…

I found this poster in the St. Francis Bookstore at Ortigas Centre, Mandaluyong. I bought 2 copies of it. I posted one copy in our hallway where I see it everyday. The other copy I keep in my daily planner for our homeschooling activities.

To whomever coined that phrase I give my heartfelt thanks.

I get easily caught up with what I am doing and when I get demands for attention from my children I used to get irritated and sometimes even angry at them for disturbing me. Like I’ve said before, I’m not perfect and I sure am trying my best to be a better parent. James 1:19 is a special verse I memorized to remind me about the important things in life.

There are still times when I don’t want to be disturbed. During those times…times when my children ask me to look at something they have made, to see something that interested them, to listen to what they want to say to me or to simply play with them, I remind myself that, to my child, LOVE is spelled TIME. And I keep in mind that these moments won’t last forever. Someday, soon, I will be the one asking them to share their time with me…
